Paying homage. First to the start of baseball games and the other. secondly to the fallible nature of humans. Or Maybe it's just superstition, we've done it this way for a few years now, tradition?
A few tables at each of the bars can handle larger teams (8+). But for the most part it's easier with 6 or less team members. If you have a large team send someone early, before 6:15pm, to claim a table for the team. The short answer is there is no limit on team size.
To get the best table to fit everyone on the team comfortably arrive by 6:15pm. At Montana and sometimes Sam's by 6:45pm all the tables are likely to be claimed.
Both bars have full service bars. Sam's Tavern has great burgers and traditional pub food. Montana doesn't have a kitchen so outside food (not drinks) are allowed. See above for a few great suggestions.
Yes. Sam's Tavern and Montana have always been dog friendly.

Alright folks, let's talk about Daylight Saving Time. You know, that wonderful invention that gives us the joy of losing an hour of sleep every spring? Yeah, you know the one. It's like a daylight savings account, except instead of accruing interest, you just get more sunlight and less sleep. A fair trade, right?
Now, DST was initially proposed to make better use of daylight and save energy. But let's be real, the only thing it's really saving is our ability to stay out later and enjoy those summer evenings. I mean, who needs sleep when you can have an extra hour of daylight to contemplate why you're so tired all the time?
And let's not forget the fun of adjusting all the clocks. It's like a scavenger hunt, but instead of finding treasure, you're just trying to remember which clocks auto-adjust and which ones are still stuck in the past...or future...depending on the time of year.
In the fall, we "fall back" and gain an hour. Suddenly, you're a time traveler with the power to relive an hour. But let's be honest, most of us just use that power to sleep. So, here's to Daylight Saving Time, the cause of, and solution to, all of our sleep problems!
Online Question:
According to Time Magazine, born out of an effort to conserve coal during World War I, what became the first country to officially adopt daylight saving time?
