Paying homage. First to the start of baseball games and the other. secondly to the fallible nature of humans. Or Maybe it's just superstition, we've done it this way for a few years now, tradition?
A few tables at each of the bars can handle larger teams (8+). But for the most part it's easier with 6 or less team members. If you have a large team send someone early, before 6:15pm, to claim a table for the team. The short answer is there is no limit on team size.
To get the best table to fit everyone on the team comfortably arrive by 6:15pm. At Montana and sometimes Sam's by 6:45pm all the tables are likely to be claimed.
Both bars have full service bars. Sam's Tavern has great burgers and traditional pub food. Montana doesn't have a kitchen so outside food (not drinks) are allowed. See above for a few great suggestions.
Yes. Sam's Tavern and Montana have always been dog friendly.

Help I’ve Fall(en)…
Fall daylight saving time - the magical time of year when we all collectively agree to mess with our clocks and pretend like we're time travelers for a day. It's like a bizarre ritual where we try to cheat the system by stealing an hour from the future and then promptly forgetting what we did with it.
I mean, who doesn't love the thrill of confusion that comes with resetting all your clocks and trying to figure out if you gained or lost an hour of sleep? It's like a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, all in the name of... well, I'm still not quite sure why we do it, to be honest.
But hey, at least we get to experience the joy of leaving work when it's already dark outside, like some kind of reverse Cinderella story where the pumpkin carriage turns into a fluorescent-lit office building. It's the season of shorter days, longer nights, and a general sense of disorientation that we all just have to roll with.
So, here's to fall daylight saving time - the annual tradition that keeps us on our toes and our internal clocks in a perpetual state of confusion. Embrace the chaos, enjoy the extra hour (or mourn the lost hour), and remember: time may be a construct, but our struggle with it is all too real. Cheers to the time warp that is daylight saving time!
